Old Series Street Lighting Loop, Bluffton, Indiana #1

At the time this photo was taken, Bluffton, Indiana was still using the old 6.6A series street lighting loop, which only a few cities and towns were using at the time. The street lighting circuits were changed over to modern parallel circuit system a few years after the photo was taken.

In this shot the top buckarm (double crossarm) has four CD 230 Hemingray - 512 and Hemingray D - 512 glass insulators. Also on the buckarm on the right is an isolation transformer for the series street lighting.

The two color glass insulators on the A-frame bracket are a CD 162 Hemingray (closest to the pole) and a CD 164 Star embossed (closest to the light).

The street light is an old Westinghouse OV-10 mercury vapor street light.
