Here we have a favorite insulator for many collectors, a CD 151 Nat Co (North American Telegraph Co.) in peacock blue. The bad news: It is in specimen condition with 75% of the base of the outer skirt missing. On the front the H.G. CO. is there but the patent date beneath it is almost entirely gone. The good news: the dome with N.A.T.Co. embossing and wire groove are NM except for one BB ping. The inner skirt has a no-glass-missing fracture but most of the drips are intact. And this means it stands straight in your window or display case. These pieces are not rare as hundreds were removed from poles along the CB&Q railway and other locations in Wisconsin and Minnesota during the 1960's and 70's, but value is high because they are so beautiful, with NM pieces now bringing in excess of $1,000. You can have this one for $100 via PayPal friends&family and I pay the priority mail shipping. The photo shows the worst, but see photo 2. |
