I certainly haven't seen many of these turn up over the years around here. I have seen a couple still in service in the Sarnia, ON area in years past, but this is the first example I've ever owned. This piece stands a hair under 6" in height. Sadly it has had all of its hardware stripped off except for the cemented-on cap at its top. It has a backwards '6' embossed on the base edge and a '0' embossed between the ridges on one side - otherwise I can't see any embossing. It's a great light honey to perhaps yellow amber colour.

It has one no glass missing bruise about 1 1/2" long that extends into the lower-most ridge just above where the lower gasket would have attached. This spot sounds worse than it is as it is actually difficult to even trace its extent. On the opposite side it has a 1/2" area with a couple small flat flakes extending off the spot where the gasket would have been. Clearly whoever owned it would have been better off leaving that gasket attached - I know I'd prefer the piece that way.

I'm now asking $125 USD SHIPPED for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
