Here's a great pair of early, probable Canadian-made U-1131 beehives. The left example has a dome CPR mark, and the right example CNR. Note that these are the dry process version with mold lines on the skirt and a pronounced, molded marking. These have a conical shape at the top of the pinhole, a trait shared with some dry process Yukon Pattern U-1137a examples. Since there is some documentation out there for the origin of the Yukon Pattern, this trait leads me to believe that these may have been made by St. Johns Potteries in St John, Quebec. Regardless of their origin, these are a great pair of early telegraph hives!

The CPR example is VNM with only a few tiny glaze bubbles and rough spots around the base edge. These are known to be somewhat crude so this is consistent with other examples I've seen. The CNR marked one has a few black hairline base bruises on the rear base edge. I've done my best to show these. It still displays very well, though.

I'm asking $20 USD plus shipping for the pair. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
