There's an old dam in MT, behind the hills in the photo. It was completed in 1937, and it's called Glacier lake dam. This structure is probably from the dam construction. I don't believe there was any power to this location. Here's a photo taken by Jeff H. I'm trying to figure out what this structure was used for, in 1937 presumably.. I can only assume they had a cable system to haul equipment up the mountain. Because the terrain is too rugged to bring wagons up on a trail. There's very heavy wagons/ iron equipment left behind up top. If any might know what this structure was used for, please email me..

Here's info on the dam/location. http://dnrc.mt.gov/divisions/water/projects/docs/factsheets/glacierlake_factsheet.pdf

Answer: Dustin L said it originates from the 1980s-1990s, and has to do with early analog cell phone service.

I'd have to agree, I thought it looked like an antenna..
