I have been cataloging my insulators in a microsoft excel document. I am pretty detailed when it comes to doing this. As I am doing this I am also numbering the insulators in the document but had an idea. I was thinking about putting one of those green or orange dots that are blank that sometimes have a price on them inside the insulator so it could not be really seen and putting a number on it coinciding with the excel sheet or tying a tag to the insulators and doing the same thing. My question is.......what is the best was to mark the insulator while doing this?

So if I catalog the one in the picture what would be the best thing to mark then with?
