With only the warning of the little black sign we see to the left of the tracks, crews were advised that this was the end of the third rail, and that standard gauge operations could proceed no further! A very unusual sight in railroading anywhere, anytime, from a day when experience and common sense overruled safety regulations and guard frogs. Photo shot Sept, 1964, courtesy of John West.
