Here's a tough to find Canadian porcelain 'hive variant. This style is believed to have been made at New Lexington, OH and is identifable by its unusually deep wire groove and "filed" base edge. These often also have a "Darth Vader" look with an upper wire ridge that protrudes slightly farther than the lower. Some of these seem to have originated from Northern Ontario, but their distribution seems to be spotty and little-known. I haven't come across many examples in my years of collecting and I'd guess that they might be one in a thousand to the much more common Pittsburgh-made ones.

This example has an area of crazing on the skirt and a black hairline bruise just about 1" long on the outer base edge, but is otherwise in good shape. The sharp outer base edge does have a few small flakes along it.

I'm asking $35 USD plus shipping for this example. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
