A recent piece from the late Miller collection. An early 1900s ad for WGM advised that they "manufactured bottles of all description" and that was no exaggeration. In this case it's a small milk bottle with the embossing "The Denver" on the front and rather than the "buckle" trademark on the base it's embossed WGMCo. There is a "1" embossed on the rear heel. There are 3 sizes of these and this is the smallest. "The Denver" referred to The Denver Dry Goods which was a very large department store organized in the mid 1890s (info on line if interested). It is a pretty light smokey purple color. These may have been given out as souvenirs or perhaps this one was taken from the store by a mischievous youngster after breakfast (there was a first class restaurant on the 4th floor). I wish I recall where Miller got it but that is probably lost to history. Perhaps others will show up at one point but it's a great milk/creamer!
