Here's an oddball piece of porcelain that doesn't seem to surface often. I'm told these are a late-19th century style that saw use in Spain but may have been made in the United Kingdom. The 5/8" pinhole it has seems to support this. Coming from a country with a serious shortage of "no tie" styles, I think it's the bee's knees. It has no markings that I can see apart from a faint mark that resembles a cursive "N" on one side of the crown, though I think this may have been accidental or hand-scratched into the piece. This example comes complete with original rust stains as shown - I think they look too cool to remove! Condition is fair on this example, with the tips of both "ears" having small flakes. I can send more photos to illustrate this if anyone needs them. I'm asking $110 USD plus shipping for this piece. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
