Most radial wave ("ruffled shade") fixtures were not offered with glass globes since nearly all were intended for their lightbulbs to be used in the open, distributing their light in all directions in a "radial" pattern. The fixture in this photo was produced by the George Cutter Company around 1920. The company offered some of their radial wave reflectored street lights with glass globes as we see in the above photo. This fixture likely had a larger and brighter lightbulb in it and the glassware undoubtedly assisted in refining and distributing its brilliant optics.
