So I am at the Western Regional and my wife calls to tell me to pick up an insulator collection before it gets put out with the garbage. The 150-piece collection is from a Pacific Gas & Electric lineman of the local De Anza division which means all the glass was picked locally in the Santa Clara Valley. All signals: 161s, 162s, 162.1s, 162.3s and 164s, with a nice cross section of Brookfield, Hemingray, a couple of Lynchburgs, California, Star and McLaughlin. The price was right ... FREE. Larry Shumaker, past president of the Nor-Cal Insulator Club, told me stuff like this would just drop in my lap when I became club president. I guess he was right.
