Here's a rare telegraph station master's rack made of cast iron in the mid to late 1800's in Germany. Designed to hang on the wall of a telegraph station and hold the telegrapher's key on this rack. Has cool decorations of telegraph poles with porcelain insulators on them and wires crossing each other at the top center. Note the large brass tone horns below the base used in Europe as a symbol for the telegraph (and a favorite of Germany).

Measures 17 1/2" tall x 13 1/3" wide at the base. Excellent condition with lots of engraved details. Hand painted. Some small enamel paint flakes on the insulators and one "ear" of a wing nut on the back is broken [id=650515054 ]. I've never seen another one of these! Cool go-with item for your insulator collection!
