The date is September, 1964, and the end has come for K-37 number 490. 10 K-37's were rebuilt from standard gauge locomotives to run on the 3 foot. As traffic dwindled and the railroad was less willing to invest money in the narrow gauge lines, certain locomotives were sacrificed for parts to keep others running.
