This is an insulator story. I first saw this insulator about 40 years ago at Billy's Little Dodge City in Ashland, Virginia. I took it to the counter and talked to Billy. I was interested because it is green with amber swirls. He would not budge on the price, nor could he be convinced it was not Canadian. Anyway, I was not going to pay his price for a $30 insulator so I put the insulator back on the shelf with the rest. Well, Billy died in 1986. Over the years I would stop by from time to time and all the over-priced insulators were still there, including this Star. His wife would not budge on any of Billy's prices either so there the Star set until yesterday. I was not planning to stop at Billy's Little Dodge City, but on the way by I saw this going out of business sign so I turned around and stopped. They were having a 60% off sale so I was finally able to pick this up for my price of $30. It is now in the soup and we will soon get to see its true colors.
