CD 154 (F-skirt) E.F.C.R. 7-UP SDP Green Not your average CD 154! This beautiful insulator surfaced in 2009, as part of a collection. It is a glowing 7-UP green loaded with snow. Drip points lean more sharp. I carried in this piece to the 2015 Iowa National and it created quite a buzz; no one could identify the mfg. The embossing is not weak nor strong, but easily discernible. The collector who removed the insulator from service hunted insulators primarily in Illinois (Quad Cities) in the 1960s, and later in Colorado as a college student. When I asked him the location of this piece, he could not recall where he discovered it, only that "my insulator collection came from old Illinois railroad lines and western Colorado." This is the only known insulator with the "E.F.C.R." embossing. Manufacturer unknown. There is a thumbnail chip/bruise to the front upper wire grove, and a small base chip. 4 drips are sliced in half. Despite this, still one hell of piece if you like one-of-a-kinds. Asking is $1800. shipped & insured. |
