The insulators on the lower crossarm are green glass supporting local openwire residential distribution secondaries (most glass found in this general area were CD 164 Brookfields). The street light is of a 1960s "Admirals Hat" type and utilized either a 92 or 189-watt filament-style street lighting service lightbulb that was rated at 1,000 or 2,500 lumens respectively. These fixtures operated from individual photoelectric lighting controls atop each fixture. During the 1970s most incandescent street lights like this one were replaced by mercury vapor ones which were more energy-efficient and with longer lasting bulbs.
