After decades I finally own one of these beautiful pieces: the Hemingray CD 154 in carnival glass. This insulator has a rich orange gold color with areas of red and blue especially under the lower wire ridge. The debate is whether these pieces were actually put in service. It is my understanding that most examples were recovered from the Hemingray dump, other collectors say that some of these insulators did see line service. I know that a number of CD 154 and CD 257 "fake" carnivals were made but this piece has the correct characteristics of authenticity and purchased from a well respected and long time collector.
