Here's a very old brass (and copper?) ashtray that displays an early telegraph pole with 3 Gingerbread insulators mounted, 2 lightning bolts, a bird (often depicted in early telegraph artistry) with a military watchman clinging to the castle wall overlooking the telegraph pole. Has number 28 on the lower portion of the ashtray. Likely made by a military telegraph battalion circa WW 1 or shortly after. Also says "ROMANS" and "ARIOU" on the base. Measures 5" x 3 1/8" wide. Small area of corrosion otherwise excellent condition. Cool item for your man cave or French insulator display!! Never seen another one of these. First email gets this unique Gingerbread insulator ashtray for only $185 plus shipping. Thanks! |
