Just one chip away from being mint! Too bad it's a 2" chip! This California helmet is the one I requested help on determining the color. The information I received from one of the most respected collectors in the hobby was that the insulator is "sage with a heavy blackish tone". Not that I see a whole ton of Cal helmets, but it was a color that seemed strange to me. So you can see that there is a major chip on the left side. I'll post a shot of the damaged side. Consider it a good place holder until that mint Cal helmet in a sage with heavy blackish tones comes along. This photo was taken outside on an overcast day.
