Here's a rarely seen porcelain battery rest found in France. It is boldly marked TUDOR with a STAR separating the two markings. Dates back to 1888, the year la Société Tudor was founded and they began manufacturing battery accumulators in Luxemborg. The company eventually had distributors and manufacturers in France, Spain, Italy. Measures 8 5/8" wide x 1 3/4" tall. Haven't seen a bigger one than this example! Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some top and base wear [id=626822219] from use probably on a large storage battery accumulator cell. An old sticker residue is also shown. Most porcelain battery rests are not marked! That makes this one especially desirable for battery rest enthusiasts! First email that says they will buy it gets it. Thanks |
