Here is a very unique piece made by Bihl Pottery in current day Ledvice, Czechoslovakia. The factory produced electrical porcelain and very nice pottery from 1896-1939. The insulator itself is VNM and shows no signs of use. Has a glaze imperfection on the base and some light scratches. There is some chipping of the labels but they appear stable and in otherwise good condition. View original on this to see the writing. I suspect this is a factory prototype or full size salesman's sample and am guessing it is late 1910s early 1920s vintage. Note that it does differ slightly from the example on the NIA site. There is an extra ridge on the top of the upper shell. Note that the catalog number matches embossed examples of U-3006 though the design is slightly different. https://www.nia.org/general/pifous/text/u3006.htm This is one of the first of these to be offered on ICON and I'd say is a true survivor, and am doubtful there are many others in existence. Reduced to $95 shipping and insurance to the US. I'm happy to ship out of the country but at your cost. PayPal friends preferred. May consider trades for pieces on my want list. |
