Primary voltage connections were made from their deadends on this pole so that these cables could be fed underground to a nearby location. The connections from the vertical riser cables that ran alongside the pole met up with the openwire deadends at porcelain "pot heads" (as they have been nicknamed) whereby each of the three cables terminated and were carefully joined together and sealed within the porcelain to resist any moisture. These can be seen with their wiring arrangement on the upper crossarm.
