This line was built in the late 1880s and extended across Massachusetts connecting Boston with Albany, NY (and points beyond). Click "Next" for a close look at the two poles on the far right. This line is known to have used (in limited to very limited numbers) "Pilgrim Hat" and W. Brookfield (crown-embossed) CD 145 insulators without inner skirts. The latter are believed to have been placed on the top ridge pin of each pole, possibly as a static wire for lightning discharges. Predominantly CD 102 crown-embossed ponies were originally placed along this route, very possibly with CD 121 tolls as well. |
