Those of you New England and area collectors probably remember Phil Harding. He was among the founders of the Yankee Pole Cat Insulator Club in 1971 (he was also very active in getting the group basically organized two years prior, in 1969). Phil was from Uxbridge and worked as a lineman for Massachusetts Electric Company for nearly 40 years. Maybe he climbed this pole? He knew where the really old company dump was and during 1969 allowed me and a couple other collectors from the area (Mrs. Cook and Margaret Oveson) to poke around the woodsy site. There weren't many intact insulators. My only find was a mint sparkling aqua CD 157.5 Standard Glass signal. It was uncovered sitting on the ground. He was sure happy that I found it and it has resided in my collection ever since with many fond collecting memories of Phil and our many, many insulator collecting expeditions.
