Picked these bells up on a hunt of an inactive power line I had been watching. They are all Locke R=8 suspensions from about 1923. During this period, Locke had a ball and socket design to get around the Ohio Brass patent where the ball enters the top of the cap rather than on the side. The bell has to turned at a 45 degree angle to fit in the socket, which can result in the bottom skirts getting chipped if one was not careful. The design was a failure and Locke switched to the Ohio Brass cap design by the mid 20s
