I was finally daring enough to open the crates and see what was inside. This is a picture of the inside of the crate. There are two cardboard boxes of 40 insulators each. Each was wrapped in a tar paper like substance. The insulators were separated with cardboard. The cardboard was not deteriorated at all, but was very brittle.
