A single-circuit, three-phase 13,200 volt line was strung atop this line which ran from Plymouth to Bryantville (Pembroke, MA). It provided power for trolley cars along this route via step-down DC converter station(s). This trolley line continued beyond the Bryantville station and was powered by another source. This was a very popular trolley route, especially in the summer. Residents from nearby towns and cities (such as Brockton, Whitman, Hanson, etc.) filled the beach and entertainment areas each weekend that were stops, and right next to this route.. Somewhat larger porcelain insulators are seen on top carrying the high voltage lines. On the middle and lower crossarms are the DC trolley lines for track operation. The middle arm looks like it has Columbia insulators with at least one composition/metal pintype beneath. |
