Here's a pair of Light Green (better than photo!) battery rests made by Kilner Brothers in the Thornhill Lees factory (circa 1898-1910). Batteries were used to provide DC power for the early telegraph circuits and railroad signals.

Measures 3 1/4" wide by 1 1/8" tall. Found in an old British trash dump with other objects dating from the late 1800s. There is a small glass pontil on the center base which demonstrates it was hand made by blowing glass into a mold. Battery rests often insulated the legs of battery storage containers.

One jelly bean flake on large piece and three small flakes on small rest, otherwise excellent! Sorry photo is upside down!

First email gets this rarely seen battery rest pair from England for only $175 plus 8.50 shipping. Thanks
