These fixtures were very common in communities west and north of Boston from the teens through the 60s. I believe this light probably was an offering from the Edwin Lewis Company, a prominent electrical equipment distributor that existed in Boston. Perhaps, too, this is the same company that had glass insulators made with the initials E.L. Co.
