The "cone top" poles seen here (notably the one on the right) were commonly used here in the Boston vicinity during the 1920s. They were cedar and many stood for decades. After nearly 100 years, there are still a good number around where there is 4kv primary.

The "crossover" crossarm construction was typical of the Edison Electric Illuminating Company of Boston (which became Boston Edison in 1938) from the late-teens onwards through at least the early 60s. Many poles with this type of construction can be seen in their service territory communities.
