This post shows a CD 736 which was purchased at the 1989 National Insulator Show in Allentown, PA. The previous owner was a digger and indicated this insulator was found in McKean Co. somewhere near Bradford, Pennsylvania on what was thought to be the route of an old New York Lake Erie and Western Railway. Information on this insulator is as follows:

CD-736 E.R.R. (Front) N.Y. & (Back) MLOD - Deep Robins Egg Blue - Crude with it's share of chips and cracks. Measurements are 105 mm high x 85 mm wide.

Constuction on the New York and Erie Railroad started in 1836 and was fully opened by 1851. In late 1859 the railroad went into receivership and was reorganized on June 25, 1861 as the Erie Railway.
