As a kid in the 1960s I very fondly recall this railroad telegraph line. It pararelled a portion of the highway route that brought me and my family to one of several Cape Cod beaches on summer weekends. The succeeding row of poles in this scene got shorter and shorter into the distance. I was very much in awe seeing such short poles...some were only about 12 feet high. I had always been accustomed to the 30 footers in the neighborhoods I grew up in! Such terrific memories!
