As mentioned in my last photo, I really loved seeing short telephone and telegraph poles out in the country whenever I was travelling with my folks in the family car. I thought it was *so* cool to get a close-hand look at what those glass thingies were supporting their tightly strung wires. And the same went for their crossarms too. Everything looked quite a bit bigger! on these short poles compared to the much taller ones I always gawked at in my neighborhood, along streets, etc. Memories like this are among my fondest as a young kid :-)
