Short telephone and telegraph poles out in the country or wherever I saw them as a little kid really fascinated me! I was very intrigued that some of these poles stood so short, compared to the much taller ones I got used to seeing along streets, in my neighborhood, etc! If I was lucky enough I was able to get out of the car and have a really close look at the crossarms, insulators and wires upon these shorties whenever my folks pulled over for a picnic or other roadside stop :-).

Another view of this pole and a bit more of my memory-lane reflecting follows... (click "Next").
