Here's a killer Midnight Blue station post insulator from Spain. Used to insulate indoor electrical machinery and apparatus. Rescued by a salvage company. When have you seen another? Measures 3 5/8" tall x 2 1/2" wide. This is a rare color insulator!

Has 3 pumpkin seed size wear marks on the top of crown and 3 around outer base skirt. Teeny scratch inside upper bowl, 2 match head flakes and 1 small skirt flake, 2 tic marks. These "wear marks" are divots produced at the factory to create a firm seal for the metal caps to be attached without damaging them! Actually, this means this is in VNM condition! Usually found in porcelain but occasionally are found in glass (mostly in France, and now Spain). Here's a picture of what this style insulator looks like with metal caps on: [id=601486173].

I'm posting this with an outdoor photo to better appreciate its crazy beauty! Unfortunately the camera didn't capture what the eye sees- an overall Deep Sapphire appearance with Violet tint in the thick outer ridge area and some in the crown (the thinner glass areas are midnight blue).

Thanks!
