An 8-pin crossarm also appears, lowermost on this old pole. It is possible the upper two crossarms came first and the lines beneath were added at a later date. Typically with old telegraph poles the crossarms closest to the top are the oldest (the insulators would be as well if they were left undisturbed) with additional arms and lines mounted lower when more circuits were needed.

The tracks are not visible but ran along in between the pole line and building in the background.
