Telephone lines owned by the street railway for dispatching were supported by the pair of insulators on both ends of this crossarm. Note the two transpositions on the right. Glass insulators also carried the DC feeder cables on the arm's two center pins, the one on the left appears to be a heavier saddle groove type while the insulator on the other side looks like a regular CD 162 or 164.
