The poles on the right probably were owned by the Electric Light and Power Company of Abington and Rockland. They supplied electricity from their stretch of poles along this street to Hingham customers. Click "Previous" for details. This square has been referred to as "West's Corner".

The lines appear to be 2,200 volt primary with 110-220 volt secondary. A Cutter (later Westinghouse Electric Company, commencing around 1920) incandescent street series fixture is in the foreground. It remained there until about 1963 or 1964 when it was replaced by a modern mercury vapor luminaire.
