Here's a great one if you like Canadian "sno cones" and tie wires. This 1678 is an odd greenish colour that is probably known by many 162.4 collectors but remains difficult to find. Numerous fine amber swirls can be seen all throughout a base aqua colour in this unusual shade. This example shows good colour separation, but when displayed in a window or light cabinet it still has an overall yellow greenish shade. Unfortunately I've failed to capture this colour adequately in these photos, but rest assured this is no standard aqua 1678. What's more - this example has a great original iron tie wire still wrapped around it. This one came from a small cache of Canadian glass that was dug up along an early S.W. Ontario rail line several years ago. The cache consisted mostly of Dwight Patterns, GNWs, and unembossed CD 143s but there were some of these 1678s in various shades of aqua through to light yellow green like this one.

Unfortunately this piece does have a calcified white bruise on the left side of the wire groove. It extends to both the upper and lower wire ridge. There is also a 5/8" thin flake on the rear upper wire ridge.

I'm asking $22 USD plus shipping for this tie-wired example of a tough colour variant. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
