An odd one here - an angular signal style closely matching U-239C in shape, but made of wet process porcelain. I've heard of these being Trenton-catalogued insulators but some folks though have since learned that Trenton did not actually MAKE porcelain, so the mystery remains as to who made this odd style. Currently I have been advised to call this a "Sim U-240". In any case it's an odd and unusual style that saw limited use here in Ontario. I've turned up 5 examples in about 15 years or so of paying close attention to porcelain. This one has a drab olive glaze with light brownish-red highlights and some drippy black glaze spots. The inner skirt is squared off, and the pinhole and inner skirt have a streaky reddish "wood grained" glaze. It even has a slightly crooked wire groove as shown!

This example is in great shape with no visible damage.

I'm asking $15 USD plus shipping for this piece. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
