Up for grabs is an unusual and uncommon Canadian no-tie style. These are recessed-embossed "SLATER" on one side, and "1647" on the other. The large washer threaded onto the bottom of these is also stamped SLATER.The unglazed base of each insulator below the washer is embossed "MADE IN / CANADA / HP" signifying manufacture by the Hamilton Porcelain company of Hamilton, ON. I have found three of these in Ontario over the last 20 years or so, but these specific examples recently came from Alberta. I have also heard of a handful originating from Nova Scotia.

These are relatively late in the game and probably date to the 1950s or so judging by the chocolate brown glaze. They don't seem to turn up often and evidently did not see wide-spread use. I've never seen any in use.

These examples are evidently NOS as they show no signs of use whatsoever. They have no wire groove scratches, chips, or cracks. These examples do have glaze partially filling in the recessed embossing. The lead used to cement the lag screw into the base is shiny and untarnished on most of these.

Note that there are two glaze colours available - a light "milk chocolate" and a "dark chocolate" glaze. I have a few of each glaze colour available. They're the cheapest no-tie style on the market!
