Here's a rare unlisted porcelain unipart insulator that was found in Spain. What makes this one especially early is it was made during the transition period from threadless to threaded. There are no threads in this beauty but it has the transitional rings inside that were made to assist with cementing a pin inside the pinhole. Likely made by Luis Berenguer (predecessor to Manufacturas Ceramicas) as this style transition pinhole predates Manufacturas Ceramicas. This means that it was made prior to the no-tie insulators which have threaded pinholes! Circa 1880-85. Measures 2 3/16" base width 3 1/2" shell width x 2 15/16" tall. A few minor glaze crazes (seen in pic) away from factory Mint condition. First email gets this unusual early insulator for only $100 plus 8.40 shipping. Thanks! |
