Here is a complete Holmes tree bracket. You don't often see these with the lower porcelain assembly. The glass insulator is a minty CD 160 faintly embossed with EIN [040] (F‑Skirt) BROOKFIELD (R‑Skirt) NEW YORK SB in Dark(ish) Aqua. NEW YORK faces front. The condition is so good, all four inner skirt vent teat are intact. The only thing I can find is a short rust trail at one mold line and a rust spot at the top of the pinhole where the steel cap on the lower cob made contact when the pieces were screwed together in service. The lag screw "Y" bracket is embossed PATENTED, and while it pivots freely up and down, the insulator is held fast in place and does not twist. The lower part of the unit is a little different than I've seen before. On this one, a steel pin holds the wooden cob in place while a folded tin wrap holds the porcelain spool halves together. The cob is split from age and stops short of threading all the way up into the pinhole, so the steel cap no longer contacts the glass. The porcelain spool halves are dry process with only minor flaking at a couple corners. Asking $200 plus postage for this rare bird. |
