Same pole as in the previous image. The crossarm stelciling seen in the background stands for the Edison Electric Illuminating Company (of Boston). The lighter colored insulators seen on the pole in the foreground (which supported trolley cables) were made of composition material. These employed standard one-inch pins and began use as standard construction at some time around 1905 superceding CD 140 Jumbos on the Boston transit system. |
