This CD 257 has a long service history first being install on temporary electric lines in construction of a power plant between 1901-1903. It was recycled on a telephone line or distribution in the immediate area after construction was complete. Then in more recent times the insulator was recycled on a distribution line utilizing old copper high voltage line conductor where it remains today. Notice the absence of lichens on the crossarm beneath the conductors due to current leakage. |
