This close view shows the uppermost six crossarms. Note the one on the top is stenciled "Fire Alarm". Owing to the fact that electric utilities, telephone and telegraph companies were still using somewhat similar line construction practices by the turn-of-the-century, it is sometimes difficult to identify what kind of circuits were on some of the poles I post here on ICON. This one is no exception (except for the fire call box lines on top). Click "Previous" for a look at the entire pole and its surroundings. |
