Here's a few of the "as found" nice patina pieces I've acquired over the years. Nothing quite like the nice colors that come out in some buried pieces. I would think that length of time and the soil types play a big part in determining the colors produced. I can't imagine how many pieces have had the cool patina removed by collectors and non-collectors over the years.
