The old decorative street lamp that you see dates back to the 1920s, if not a bit earlier. These were street series incandescents, usually rated at 1,000 lumens. Such fixtures were common throughout Edison territory. They were changed out throughout the Boston Edison system in subsequent years to mercury vapor lights.
