This extra marking is attributed to Illinois manufacture, but it is unknown at this time what the marking represents or was intended for. To date I know of only 3 or 4 of these (the marking seems to be only on these baby beehives). One is in another collection, one came off of a railroad line east of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and two more were recovered from the Katy Trail, north of Clinton, Missouri.
